Finca ElMar Coffee Company origins revert to the vision of Licenciado Don Elmer Maradiaga-Ruiz's family in the mid 1800's when his family migrated from southern Spain and settled in the Olancho region of Honduras in Central America.
Don Elmer inherited the land from his great grand aunt at an early age. Upon completion of his law studies, he ventured to expand and develop his property, in the spirit of his family to embrace sustainable farming practices and maintain an ecological paradise. He also provided economic development for the people in the surrounding area.
While authoring agrarian law for the government of Honduras, he participated in a dignitary visit to brazil, where he acquired Caturra coffee seeds and started the current legacy of the plantation.
